Psychiceyeclix - Be Deleted

Released: May 31

Be Deleted is an album that is thoroughly unapologetic in its abrasiveness but also has the wherewithal to  know when to pull back ever so slightly. And there is a lot going on most of the time including some extremely degraded sampling and circuit-bent synths that sound like they are in the process of losing a fight with a woodchipper. “Some Can’t Be None” is one of the latter aesthetic pieces, coming in hot with bitcrushed rhythmic noise and a slurry of distorted noise remind in between the spaces in the pattern. “Deleted scene 0010” take the vocal sampling to extremes, throw layers of heaping disruption and degradation on top of a vocal and turning in into a noisy nightmare for the most part with a single bit of tonal content in the form of a pitchshfited string of some sort.

The whole album is rather short but effectively sets a scene of existential and dystopian dread. It feels like a sort of sci-fi with extemporaneous themes of an existential nature. In other words, something like what Serial Experiements Lain might be if it were a more frightening electronic noise album. Just the very opening of the album as a low quality computerized tells the listen “you will be deleted” before launching into a spectacularly noisy and hectic onslaught of percussive noise takes over everything and persists in its intensity until the end. It is altogther a rather intense album that ties in these wires moments of relative clarity and normalcy only to undermine it just a short moment later.
