Another entry in the LIFEFILES series, this chapter in the chronicle sees Chester-based musician boycalledcrow (Carl Knott) make a contribution by winding his signature folk-influenced guitar playing along with his penchant for crunchy digital percussion. The source audio comes from a simple field recording in which we can hear the wind and sounds of the city around us outside of the Westbury Arts Centre. Everything else seems to have been created by Knott as he builds an entire composition around this subtle recording. The quickly picked melody of the guitar is the first to come in as the percussion slowly joins it to create something that lies in a wonderful little sweet spot between the natural and the uncanny.
