Kip LaVie - Almost Awake at Midnight

After a roughly two-year hiatus, Portland-based artist Kip LaVie released a single track in anticipation of an upcoming album, for which the details are currently unknown. But for now, we get a piano loop-centered track with fun percussive influences that a reminiscent of the earlier days of dubstep. The track is overall rather calm but has just enough energy to be slightly beyond downtempo music.  Rapid fire snare rolls show up in the second half of the song, upping the energy ever so slightly and bringing new depth to already established motifs. It's a fun little track and I can't wait to see what we get for the full album.
